There are parking lots on the outer side on the university loop that hardly get full (on the ECS building side – near Wilkins Ave., and on the other side, on the way to the TRC).
Maybe the university can operate shuttle lines between the parking lots on the outer side of the loop and the bus stops around the loop.
Just a thought… |

| True! I think this post speaks directly to the need to assess UMBC's parking capacity so that the lot assignments for commuters and residents can be done fairly. Obviously, no one wants either group to be inconvenienced any further with regard to the parking situation. Therefore, I propose that we look at the lots and establish a proposal to take to the University. Further, I really like the idea of having functional shuttle lines that could run from the out lying lots to the main campus area. I have received some feed back on this from students in my department and most seem to see the parking problem as a major hassel for them on the day to day. HOwever, I have received one complaint about wanting to assign lots. The issues brought to the table by this individual come from a resident standpoint and so are quite important to address. I hope to come to the GSAmeeting on Monday with some sort of proposed outline for the parking situation. |
